CONGRATULATIONS KELLEY CONLEY
on your recent nomination for
Catholic League Scholar Athlete Leader Award!

Kelley Conley,  a senior at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic High School, was recently nominated for the Operation Friendship "Frank Connolly Basketball Award", an award named in memory of the late director of the Catholic Youth Organization who was responsible for beginning and fostering growth in girls basketball.  Operation Friendship, a joint venture between the Detroit Public Schools and the Catholic League, is an extensive scholar/athlete recognition program designed to pay tribute to outstanding youth who have excelled in academics while being actively involved in sports.  Congratulations Kelley on your prestigious nomination!

MATT MAHALAK

on your recent nomination for
Catholic League Athlete of the Year!

Matthew Mahalak,  a senior at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic High School was recently nominated for the prestigious "Walt Bazylewicz Athlete of the Year Award" honoring outstanding senior athletes in the Catholic League.  He was named as one of the top male athletes from among 25 high schools representing over 17,000 students.  Congratulations Matt!

ATTEND LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE


From March 6-9, Ashley Murray (Grade 9) and Michael Waligora (Grade 8) attended the Congressional Youth Leadership Conference held in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  Themed Courageous Leadership, the conference was designed to help the young scholars take an introspective and highly-personalized assessment of their leadership skills and abilities.
